Taib’s granddaughter dies
KUALA LUMPUR: Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s four-year-old granddaughter, Celestia Lulua Mahmud Abu Bekir, died after falling into the swimming pool at her home at Duta Nusantara Condominium here.
Celestia was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Kuala Lumpur Hospital when she lost consciousness after the accident on Monday.
The girl was buried at the Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery.
Just over a month ago, Taib lost his wife Puan Sri Laila to cancer. — Bernama
