Water supply disruption in Hulu Langat, Petaling
KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply was disrupted in various areas in Hulu Langat and Petaling beginning 11pm Friday when a Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) cable that supplied electricity to the raw water treatment plant in Sungai Semenyih was damaged.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) in a statement Saturday said the company had taken immediate action by chanelling water from the Sungai Selangor Phase 3 and the Sungai Langat plants to reduce the number of areas affected.
According to the statement, Syabas said it was informed that the cable was repaired at 11am today by TNB and water supply would be restored in stages.
The areas affected in Hulu Langat were Desa Kenanga, Bangi Jaya, UKM, Bangi Golf Resort, Dusun Jaya, Semenyih Ria, Bandar Baru Bangi, Sungai Chua, Sungai Ramal, Kampung Sungai Kembung Hilir, Taman Seri Melor, Taman Putra Kajang and Taman Bukit Ria involving about 80,000 consumers.
While in Petaling, areas affected were Bandar Puchong Jaya, Kinrara, Bandar Puteri, Taman Perindustrian Kinrara, Taman Bukit Kinrara, Bukit Serdang, Kampung Muhibbah and Serdang Raya.
