Investigate karaoke session claims, urges school PTA
PASIR PUTEH: The SMK Tok Janggut parent teacher’s association (PTA) has urged the Education Ministry to investigate claims that the school’s principal frequently held karaoke sessions with female students at the girls’ hostel.
Its chairman Datuk Mohd Jelani Jaafar told reporters here that the association received numerous complaints on the matter, including from teachers, and had forwarded them to the Pasir Puteh education office for further action.
He was commenting on reports that a female student was suspended from the hostel for a month for reporting the principal’s conduct to the school’s Senior Assistant for Students Affairs.
The student claimed that she saw the principal frequenting the girls’ hostel between 9pm and 1am for karaoke sessions with female students there.
Mohd Jelani said that if the claims were true, it could tarnish the image of other principals and affect the students’ academic performance.
The students should be concentrating on their studies, he said. -Bernama
