Johor Wanita MCA chief says ‘sorry’ to party members
JOHOR BARU: State Wanita MCA chief Tan Ah Eng has apologised to party members who have been replaced as councillors just weeks after being sworn in.
“As part of the committee for the selection of councillors, I apologise that the appointments have brought a lot of confusion in the party,” she said during her speech at the 33rd Johor Wanita MCA Convention in Kulaijaya here yesterday.
Later, Tan told reporters that she had felt responsible, especially towards those who had been “hurt” by their replacement.
“I feel very sorry and guilty towards the councillors involved because we could not produce a good outcome in handling the matter,” she said, admitting that there had been “some technical problems”.
“We will take it as a lesson,” she said.
