Russia calls on U.S. to compromise on missile defence

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the United States must compromise on plans for a missile defence system in Europe to get a deal on cutting back nuclear warheads.
Speaking in an interview with Italian media that was published on Sunday, the day before U.S. President Barack Obama was due to fly into Moscow, Medvedev said a compromise on missile defence would allow Moscow and Washington to replace the START I arms reduction treaty which expires in December.
