Standard reference number for business entities
PETALING JAYA: The Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (Pemudah) has come up with a standard identification number for business entities to use when dealing with various Government agencies.
The number, known as MyCoID, is a Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM) business registration number for companies, sole proprietors and partnerships.
Pemudah said new businesses which have started registering with the CCM since July 1, can use the MyCoID number when interacting with the Inland Revenue Board (IRB), Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF), Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), Royal Malaysian Customs (RMC) and Social Security Organisa-tion (SOCSO).
“We have initiated this single reference number as of July 1 for these five agencies. It will be implemented for all remaining agencies in stages,” it said in a statement here yesterday.
MyCoID is expected to be fully implemented by the five agencies by Jan 1 next year.
“Existing companies (those registered before July 1) will be able to use their MyCoID numbers registration numbers when dealing with the IRB, EPF and HRDF from Sept 1,” it said.
