Firm fined RM4,000 for smoky vehicle
JOHOR BARU: A recycling company was fined RM4,000 by Sessions Court Judge Aliman Musri here after one of its diesel vehicle was found emitting excessive smoke along Batu 25 Jalan Johor Baru-Pontian on July 12, two years ago.
Chen Tzun Jung of Tian Chun Industries (M) Sdn Bhd pleaded guilty to the charge yesterday.
The vehicle is said to have emitted 87.1% exhaust fumes, exceeding the permissible 50% maximum smoke concentration under Rule 11(1) Environment Quality Rules (Diesel Engine Emission Control) 1996.
Meanwhile, in another Sessions Court, a 23-year-old man claimed trial to raping a 15-year-old girl at Hotel Ghazrin in Larkin Perdana here, at about 10pm, sometime in mid-May this year.
Sessions Court judge Abd Ghafar Abdul Latif set bail at RM6,000 and fixed Nov 4 for mention pending medical reports.
