TM users can opt to have details removed from directory
WE REFER to “Charges imposed for services not wanted” (The Star, Aug 4).
Telekom Malaysia (TM) has recently begun a directory confirmation exercise for its Homeline customers under which customers have the option of having their details that include names, address and fixed telephone numbers listed on or removed from the TM directory service.
We have recently issued letters to customers seeking confirmation of their agreement for TM to disclose their details via TM directory services, such as TM White Pages Directory and 103 directory assistance service.
Under this exercise, TM Homeline customers who wish to remove their details from the TM directory service are requested to fill up a form sent by TM or downloaded from TM’s corporate website at www.tm.com.my.
Customers can also visit the nearest TMpoint outlet to obtain the form.
Subscribers of TM’s X-Directory service will also have to fill up the form if they wish to remain unlisted.
However, customers who wish to remain listed in the TM directory do not need to respond.
TM wishes to clarify that we are placing more emphasis on customers who choose not to publish their details as most of our existing customers are already listed in TM’s directory.
As such, we are only requesting those who prefer not to disclose their details to respond, as they number fewer than those currently listed.
Also, the requirement for an annual fee of RM25 to keep information private, which was communicated through our earlier mailers and bill inserts, has been waived.
Customers can submit the form to TM at the nearest TMpoint outlet, or via post addressed to Telekom Malaysia Bhd, Level
16, TM Annexe 2, Jalan Pantai
