Indian bank to open branch in Malaysia
A BANK from India will be opening its branch in Malaysia soon, said Deputy Minister in Prime Minister’s department Datuk S. K. Devamany.
Devamany said this would help further strengthen the existing relationship between India and Malaysia, reported Tamil Nesan.
He also said that Malaysian Indians would have more business opportunities with Indian businessmen with the opening of the branch.
He said that although there were many foreign banks in the country, the opening of the Indian bank would help to ensure that the rights of the Indian community were not forsaken.
> Tamil Nesan also reported that a Gujarat-based rose grower would partner with a Malaysian company to start a RM21mil floriculture project in the temperate hilly regions in Malaysia.
The family-owned Best Roses Biotech Pvt. Ltd, a rose grower and exporter from Navsari, South Gujarat, India, and Fasih Laris Sdn Bhd have formed a 49:51 joint venture to begin production of cut roses, largely for exports.
