Najib happy with Puduraya upgrade
KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak is satisfied with the changes occuring at the Puduraya Terminal.
In a walkabout at the facility yesterday, he said he was happy that the terminal’s management, UDA Holdings Bhd (UDA), had taken the necessary steps to give the terminal a facelift in just 51 days.
Satisfied: Najib touring the area on his walkabout at the Puduraya Terminal in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. “I believe that those using the terminal will feel much better and comfortable now,” he said after spending about 15 minutes touring the facilities at the terminal yesterday.
Present were Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Husni Mohamad Hanadzlah, Federal Territories Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin and his deputy Datuk M. Saravanan, and Kuala Lumpur mayor Datuk Ahmad Fuad Ismail.
This was the Prime Minister’s second walkabout at the terminal following his first on April 25 when he had called for better facilities for the benefit of commuters.
Najib said a total of RM52mil was allocated to turn the terminal into a modern and comprehensive transportation hub, with the first phase of work costing RM4.2mil now completed.
“The second phase will start in about a year, and this place will change radically,” he said, adding that he would be visiting the terminal again after the second phase was completed.
The work includes expanding the passenger waiting area by three times, putting in place modern lots for business outlets and landscaping the area around the terminal.
