Pimp jailed after approaching undercover cop
By LISA GOH
KUALA LUMPUR: A 55-year-old man was sentenced to a month’s imprisonment by the magistrate’s court for asking an undercover police officer, “Mau Ah Moi, kah? Ada perempuan Cina untuk RM200.”
Magistrate Mohd Faizi Che Abu handed down his ruling on Lee Choo Chye, from Desa Petaling, after Lee pleaded guilty to offering the prostitution services of a Chinese woman to V. Jagarnathan, an undercover police officer, in front of the Federal Hotel here, around 11.30pm on Sept 18 this year.
According to prosecuting officer D.R. Ghanti Nathan, the police officer had monitored Lee for about 10 minutes at the said location, and saw him stopping men who were passing by and talking to them.
Suspecting him of soliciting clients for the purpose of prostitution, Jagarnathan pretended to be a potential client. When Lee made the offer, he was arrested.
Lee, who was not represented, will have his sentence commence from the date of his arrest.
In the same court, security guard Ruslan Zakaria, 40, was sentenced to two months jail for stealing five bottles of Johnson’s baby oil worth RM54.50 from the Mydin supermarket in Jalan Silang here at about 5.20pm on Sept 16.
