PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak will be speaking at the International Conference of Asian Political Parties, a meeting held to promote cooperation among political parties in Asian countries.
This year’s ICAPP will take place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, on Thursday.
The Prime Minister will deliver his keynote address after United Nations secretary-general Ban Ki-moon’s congratulatory remarks.
Prior to that, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen will deliver his opening speech.
The conference will be held at the Peace Palace of the Prime Minister’s Office and International Conference Centre.
The Phnom Penh Conference is the sixth ICAPP meeting since it was first held in Manila in 2000.
The conference also aims to promote an exchange of ideologies between political parties. Other objectives include enhancing mutual understanding and trust among Asian nations.
During the brief visit, Najib will also officially open the Malaysia Embassy Complex at Street 242, Sangkat Chaktomouk, Phnom Penh.
