Malay contractors got 44 contracts worth RM68m in Penang
GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng said of 66 state government projects in the past two years, 44 projects worth RM68mil were given to Malay contractors.
The projects were for waterpipe works under the Penang Water Corporation (PBA), he told reporters on Monday.
Lim also said that 70% of projects under the Penang Development Corporation (PDC) were given to Malay contractors.
He however did not give the value of the projects.
Lim said that under the open-tender system capable contractors did not have to go abroad to get projects. -- Bernama
