Student loses phones and computer
KUANTAN: A student lost two handphones and a laptop computer worth about RM3,000 to a man who impersonated a policeman in Jalan Besar here.
The incident occurred at about 2.45pm on Sunday when the victim, who was riding a motorcycle, was stopped by the suspect.
State CID liaison officer Asst Supt Noor Asyikin Shamsuri said the suspect stopped the student on the pretext that his motorcycle was involved in a hit-and-run accident in Jalan Beserah.
He then showed his wallet that purportedly contained a police logo, she said at her office here yesterday.
“The suspect also told the victim to surrender his two handphones and the laptop computer,” she added.
