Exotic meat featured on TV show
I WAS shocked when watching a local TV food programme the other day. This programme has a very large following. I enjoy watching this show. The host is very entertaining and the contents of the show are also very good.
The shocking part was when they featured a restaurant selling exotic meat. Two exotic dishes were prepared for the host – one was porcupine and the other barking deer. Both animals are on the endangered list.
It’s sad that there are still restaurants which sell exotic meat that is on the endangered list.
As the old saying goes, “When the buying stops, the killing will too.” But is this happening? I don’t think so. I have a new saying, “When the killing stops the buying will too.’’
