Tian Chua involved in fatal accident
KOTA TINGGI: A Mercedes-Benz carrying PKR strategic director Tian Chua was involved in a head-on collision with a motorcycle, resulting in the death of the motorcyclist.
The car driver was believed to have lost control of his vehicle along the 49th km of the Johor Baru-Mersing road, before the collision at 9pm on Friday.
Tian Chua, who is also Batu MP, was believed to be on his way for a talk in Mersing after attending a PKR gathering in Kota Tinggi.
The motorcyclist, Pbt Mohd Salleh Hamdan, 23, who was attached to the Mersing Army Camp, died in Kota Tinggi Hospital about two hours after the accident.

The 45-year-old driver, who is also a PKR leader, has been detained, Supt Osman added.
Meanwhile, Mohd Salleh’s family, when met at the Kota Tinggi Hospital, were still in shock.
His fiancee Noraliza Said Abd Basar, 26, said they had planned to get married in June.
“I can’t believe he is gone. Now, all I have are memories of him,” she said, adding that they got engaged just three months ago.
Mohd Salleh’s father, Hamdan Saum, 48, said his son was a very caring person.
“He rarely took leave, but this time around, he had taken two days to return home. And this had to happen,” said the ex-army officer, who now works as a driver.
Tian Chua offered his condolences to the family and said the party had already started a donation drive for the family.
On Jan 25, Tian Chua was involved in an accident near the Bukit Beruntong interchange in Petaling Jaya, when his driver drove into a ramp along the North-South Expressway.
Tian Chua escaped unhurt.
