Ong: I’ve no time for alliances
KUALA LUMPUR: MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat says official and ministerial duties have kept him too busy to form alliances or pacts for the party election on March 28.
The Transport Minister said he did not have a lot of time outside his office hours to campaign.
“How can one form any pact and go campaigning when one is in the Dewan Rakyat and attending meetings?” he said when asked about his campaign and whether he had teamed up with other party leaders also contesting in the election.
Asked whether he would take on former president Tan Sri Ong Ka Ting who had also announced his decision to run for the party top post, Tee Keat said: “I will do what I had said as well as deliver what I promised and committed to. Whether I win or lose, I leave it to the central delegates.”
