5 women of Chinese nationality detained in anti-vice raid
KUALA LUMPUR: Five women of Chinese nationality and two Malaysian men were detained when police raided a karaoke club, believed to be a front for a prostitution den, in Petaling Jaya.
A spokesman from the Petaling Jaya Vice, Gambling and Secret Society Investigation Division (D7), when contacted, said the Chinese women, aged between 22 and 26, and two local men, aged 30 and 37, believed to be pimps, were detained about 11pm on Friday.
He said they were detained when police raided the karaoke club located on the fourth and fifth floor of a building along with a four-star hotel here.
The karaoke club, whose patrons included the VVIPS, served as a meeting place for prostitutes, who were paid between RM400 and RM500, to meet their clients before they proceeded to their next rendezvous at the hotel rooms next door, where their service will be paid by the hour, he added.
He said the five women and the two men were taken to the Petaling Jaya police station for further investigation. - Bernama
