Almost 3 million treated at 1Malaysia clinics
KUALA LUMPUR: The 1Malaysia clinics have treated 2.97 million patients nationwide since the launch by the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in January last year.
The clinics, which are part of an initiative under the GTP's Cost of Living NKRA, were introduced to provide basic healthcare services to the rakyat, especially those from low-income households.
As of October, there are 82 clinics across the country with more set to open next year.
The Government aims to increase the number of clinics nationwide by at least 150 before the end of next year.
Health Ministry Director-General Datuk Seri Dr Hasan Abdul Rahman said this included 50 new clinics, which would be constructed with the Budget 2012 allocation announced by the Prime Minister last month.
