Langkawi welcomes Kazakhstan tourists

LANGKAWI: Scat Air of Kazakhstan is making two chartered flights to Langkawi, bringing along tourists to the duty-free island resort.

The first arrived yesterday while the other is scheduled for Jan 14.

A traditional welcome, complete with kompang beating, greeted the 200 passengers when the plane landed at the Langkawi International Airport at about 10am.

The Langkawi Development Authority Board, with the cooperation of tourist agencies, held the welcoming reception and distributed leaflets that promoted the island to the visitors.
