A TEACHER was raped by a robber after he failed to remove her gold bracelet at a flat in Petaling Jaya.

China Press reported that the victim, 48, also had her handphone stolen in the incident.

She was alone in the house when she suddenly saw the robber, said to be in his 20s, standing in front of her armed with a knife.

Her husband and two children, in their 20s, were away during the 5am incident on Tuesday.

Sin Chew Daily said the suspect could have got into the house via the toilet window.

> China Press also reported that the 82-year-old woman who is pining for a married temple priest has thought about taking her own life after the man insisted that he wanted nothing to do with her.

In an interview, Ting Ah Moi, who made headlines recently with her confession to Khong Chee Fook, 67, said she wanted to prove that her love was true and would last forever.

> The daily also reported that MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek had praised the Chinese press for their professionalism and fair reporting.

He added that the party and the Government had never imposed any ban on media organisations or boycotted them.

“We have never asked the Chinese press to side with us. That is because each media organisation is responsible for its reports,” he was quoted by the daily.

Chua added that parties in Pakatan Rakyat had boycotted or banned media organisations in the states ruled by them just because their reports were unfavourable.

Chua was commenting on recent online reports that Pakatan Rakyat supporters had launched a campaign to boycott the Chinese press as they were dissatisfied over the coverage during the recent Bersih rally.
