Aug 26 new mention date for Datuk R. Anbalagan's murder case

KLANG: The Magistrate's Court Wednesday set Aug 26 to mention the case of an Indian national charged with murdering lawyer Datuk R.Anbalagan.

Magistrate Azlinda Mohd Sharif set the date following an application by DPP Shahrul Ekhsan Hasim for a new mention date as the post-mortem and chemist reports were not ready.

Last June 17, R.Narayanan, 24, was charged with murdering the lawyer, who was his employer, at the Sri Ramalingeswarari temple in Jalan Kebun Baru, Kampung Perepat here at 9.30pm on June 13 this year.

During today's proceeding, lawyer Datuk V.Sithambaram, who represented Narayanan, requested the court to record the injuries on his client's body which he detected while interviewing him.

He said there were wounds and nine stitches on Narayanan's hand.

Meanwhile, a slight commotion broke out when a woman, said to be Anbalagan's mother, created a scene when she screamed at Narayanan while he was being led out of the court room. - Bernama
