New look Puduraya is now Pudu Sentral
Najib with Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin and Transport Minister Datuk Seri Kong Cho Ha viewing a picture gallery of Puduraya KUALA LUMPUR: The 35-year-old Puduraya bus terminal is renamed Pudu Sentral in keeping with its modern and new look on par with an airport.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said the new name was a suggestion from a follower on his Twitter account.
"When I sent out a 'tweet' this morning to say that I would be visiting Puduraya, one of the followers on my Twitter account replied to suggest that the name of this bus terminal is changed to reflect its new, modern image.
"After considering the suggestion, I have decided to rename Puduraya as Pudu Sentral," he told reporters after opening the new look terminal Saturday.
Najib said RM52mil had been spent on Puduraya's upgrade which Malaysians should be proud of.
