Chua: Some 1,000 people out of poverty line

IPOH: About 1,000 people have improved their income and moved out of poverty under the Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry's Azam Tani programme.
"Our target for this year is to get 1,200 poor people out of the poverty line.
"I am confident that we can achieve this," Deputy Minister Datuk Chua Tee Yong told reporters after a working visit here on Thursday.
Chua explained that the programme helped poor families increase their household income by assisting applicants with equipment.
