74-year-old woman living with son from hell

A SON would hit his 74-year-old mother whenever she asked him for money to pay for daily expenses, Guang Ming Daily reported.

Wang Hui Jiu said her 46-year-old son had hit her more than 10 times and she was even admitted to hospital once.

Wang said her son's temperament became worse after his wife, who was also abused by him, left him three years ago.

Neighbours had tried to stop the domestic violence but he would tell them to “mind your own business”.

Wang's nightmare entered a new level when loan sharks began to harass her over her son's debts.

“My house was splashed with red paint on Saturday. I asked my son if he owed anyone money, but he denied it,” said Wang, who has lodged a police report.

Her younger son has urged her to move out but she refused.

“I paid for this house,” she said.

> Nanyang Siang Pau reported that a woman from Malacca, who was married to a Singaporean, threw her eight-month-old baby out of their 15th floor unit before jumping off the building.

Their bodies were found at about 4.40pm on Friday in Jelapang Road, Singapore.

The 40-year-old woman, who resigned from her job after giving birth to her second daughter early this year, was believed to be suffering from post-natal depression.

A neighbour described the woman and her 44-year-old husband as a “loving couple”.
