Technical glitch disrupts LRT line from Jelatek to Sri Rampai

KUALA LUMPUR: The RapidKL's Kelana Jaya Light Rail Transit's (LRT) operation from Jelatek to Sri Rampai was in a degraded mode this morning until 12.27 pm following a technical hiccup in its signaling system.

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Berhad (Prasarana) in a statement issued here Thursday said the LRT service along the stretch was slow as the service had to be undertaken under a manual mode.

"A total of 29 four-car trains were deployed but the service remained slow and the crowd still had to wait longer to enter a train," said the statement.

It said the technical hiccup situation arose following an exercise to remove an obsolete part of a signaling system as advised by a signaling system contractor appointed by the company.

"The exercise, which started at 12am this morning and supervised by the signaling system contractor, encountered unexpected difficulties at 4am which disrupted the Automatic Train Operation System for the line," it said. Prasarana said RapidKL regretted of any inconvenience arising from the situation. - Bernama
