Four Pakistanis accused of kidnapping countryman for RM470,000 ransom

KUALA LUMPUR: Four Pakistani construction workers were charged in a Magistrate's court here with kidnapping their fellow countryman for a RM470,000 ransom two months ago.

Abdul Qayyum Mohamood Tariq, Shauket Ali Muhammad Yar, Muhammad Yar Ghulam Habib and Muhammad Irfan Muhammad Rais, aged between 20 and 30, were jointly accused of kidnapping Muhammad Qadeer Muneer, 31, on Aug 29.

The offence was allegedly committed at a terrace house in Jalan Tempines, Bangsar, here at about 9.45am.

No plea was recorded and no bail was offered.

It was reported that the four were nabbed on Sept 6.

Muhammad Qadeer, who arrived in Malaysia on Aug 25, claimed he was cheated by his friend who said he could get him a job.

He was taken to Taiping where the alleged kidnap took place.
