PM: Don't gamble away country's future based on Pakatan's empty promises

KUALA LUMPUR: Don't take the risk and gamble away the country's future based on Pakatan Rakyat's empty promises, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

He said Pakatan lacked credentials as it could not even have a common symbol or manifesto and yet, was ambitious enough to want to take over the Federal Government.

"Sometimes, it's the moon, sometimes, it's the rocket or the eye symbol, how could they give confidence to the people?

"They contest (in general election) under different symbols and manifestos and don't even have the same policies on how to govern the country.

"Can we gamble our future and take this risk?" he said in his speech at the MCA 59th annual general assembly at Wisma MCA here Sunday.

Najib said there were people who were magnanimous enough to say that Pakatan should be given a chance to govern and that the people can vote it out at next general election if its performance was unsatisfactory.

"Don't say five years, even within a year, the country can be destroyed," he said.

He also issued a challenge to DAP to place its candidates at Malay majority seats in the coming general election.

"Is DAP multi-racial? If they are, I dare them (to put candidates) to stand at Malay majority constituencies," he said.
