Zulfahmi and Chong Wei receive congrats from PM


KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak congratulated national racer Zulfahmi Khairuddin for clinching second position in the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix.

“We have again made history!” he said on Twitter on Sunday night. “I congratulate Saudara Zulfahmi for winning the second spot in the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. Our first Podium finish'. Congratulations!”

Zulfahmi, from the AirAsia-SIC-Ajo team, clocked 40 minutes 54.151 seconds behind Sandro Cortese from the Red Bull KTM Ajo team. The German racer clocked 40'54.123s.

The Prime Minister also congratulated top national shuttler Datuk Lee Chong Wei for winning the Denmark Open on the same night.

“My wife and I spoke to Lee Chong Wei last night. Congratulated him and wished him Happy Birthday,” he said.

Chong Wei's victory over Chinese player Du Pengyu 15-21, 21-12, 21-19 was seen as a birthday present for the world number one.

He turned 30 on Sunday. - Bernama
