CHU Mei-Feng, the Taiwanese politician who was videotaped having sex with a married man 11 years ago, has taken over the magazine that exposed her illicit affair and distributed discs of her scandalous act.

Guang Ming Daily reported the former Taipei city councillor and cultural director of the local Hsinchu government has confirmed that she has taken over the publisher's job at Scoop Weekly.

The paper quoted her as saying that she wished to revive the down-and-out magazine by giving it a fresh style.

In the latest issue, the magazine had 46-year-old Chu on the cover with the provocative headline “Making a Comeback or Revenge?”, with the inside pages giving stories of her trials and tribulations over the past 11 years.

Sales of Scoop, which had been in the market for 24 years, had been going downhill since and was forced to stop publication in February last year due to financial problems.

After a long hiatus, it was re-launched in September.

Chu became a national shame in 2001 when she was caught on a hidden camera installed by a close friend having sex with entrepreneur Tseng Chung-min, the head of an Internet company.

Ashamed by the incident, she left Taiwan and travelled to Britain, Macau and China.

In 2005, she married a Chinese national 14 years her junior in Britain. The marriage ended a year later.

Last year, she tied the knot with a Hong Kong businessman, 57, with whom she has a son.
