Petronas bars staff from giving or receiving gifts
KUALA LUMPUR: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) on Wednesday announced a No Gift Policy for its staff as a way to inculcate values of integrity and trustworthiness in its business dealings.
The national oil corporation said the policy, to be enforced with immediate effect, was introduced to avoid or raise any perception of conflict of interest in its dealings with other parties.
Under the policy, Petronas staff will not be allowed to give or receive gifts of any kind from any parties it has dealings with.
However, it said the company would allow gifts in the form of corporate souvenirs from business partners.
The announcement was published in a local Malay daily on Wednesday.
