‘Touch points’ in Budget to be explained

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 111 initiatives or “touch points” in the 2013 Budget will be explained in detail so that they are easily understood by the public.

Umno information head Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the party's information machinery and those of Barisan Nasional component parties were now detailing the “touch points” to be produced in the form of pamphlets, press reports and virtual media.

He hoped that the detailed explanation would enable the people to better understand the essence of the Budget and its benefits.

Ahmad, who is also Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, chaired a meeting of the party's information bureau and information heads of the Barisan component parties here yesterday.

Describing the 2013 Budget as fair and equitable to all strata of society, he said the explanation would refute the Opposition's claim that its own budget was more people-friendly. - Bernama
