Two killed in two-car collision
KUANTAN: Two people were killed while another two suffered serious injuries when two cars crashed head-on at Kilometer 23 Jalan Pekan-Nenasi near Rompin, Sunday.
Pahang Traffic and Public Order head Supt Mohamed Fauzi Abdul Rahim said during the 5.30pm incident, a Proton Iswara with three family members was involved in an accident with a Proton waja car in which four family members were traveling.
Mohamed Fauzi said the dead were the Proton Iswara car passenger, Siti Rahmah Roman, 26, who was eight months pregnant, from Kuala Rompin and a passenger in the Proton Waja car, Nah Yasin, 72, from Jengka 13, Bandar Jengka.
"Upon reaching a sharp corner, the Proton Iswara car that was heading to Nenasi from Pekan, was believed to have lost control and crashed head-on with the Proton Waja that was coming from the opposite direction," he told reporters here Monday.
Mohamed Fauzi said Nah and Siti Rahmah died at the spot.
He added that Ainun Che Musa, 44, a passenger from the Proton Waja car and the driver of the Proton Iswara, Zulkefli Kamaruddin, 27, were seriously injured while three other passengers suffered minor injuries. "All the victims were sent to the Pekan Hospital," he said. - Bernama
