PETALING JAYA: National football goalkeeper Khairul Fahmi Che Mat has yet to set a date for his wedding to fiancee Nur Eilunie Natasha Nazri, better known as Leuniey, as he needs to pay full attention to the sport.

Khairul, popularly referred to as Apek, said he could only make a decision over his wedding after the AFF Suzuki Cup Championship 2012, which runs from Nov 24 to Dec 22.

The 23-year-old, who is now undergoing training with the national squad, said he had no choice but to concentrate on the tournament first.

“I don’t want to think about marriage preparations for now,” he said. “My focus is on football. Other matters are taken care of by my manager,” he told mStar Online recently.

Apek and Leuniey got to know each other after they took part in an advertisement for SimplySiti perfumes, which is owned by Datuk Siti Nurhaliza Taruddin.

It was reported that Apek’s father Che Mat Hussain had said the couple would tie the knot either at the end of the year or early next year.
