PETALING JAYA: Efforts to remove the glass panel with the Blessed Virgin Mary's image has to be done carefully because the panel is aging and delicate.
Representatives from a local Catholic parish visited the Sime Darby Medical Centre yesterday to discuss how best to remove the panel.
Present were SDMC management and the contractor engaged to ensure no damage to the glass panel during its transfer to the Marian Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Klang.
“We discussed the best method to remove it safely as the window pane is aging and is delicate,” said a church representative.
“The access to the site is not easy, so we are talking about the possibility of using a sky lift as the process has to be done from the outside.”
The representative said the remo-val process was only at the discussion stage because they wanted no damage done to the panel.
Meanwhile, folks continued to make trips to the hospital to catch a glimpse of the image. Many were seen praying and singing hymns at the hospital grounds.
Among them was Nigerian Chris-topher Vincent, 32, who was leading the crowd with prayers.
Aloycious Cruez, 52, said he and his family were there “to give thanks for our answered prayer”.
“I had a stroke and was paralysed,” he said. “However, I have now been healed.”
