Situation in flood-hit Terengganu, Kelantan almost back to normal
KUALA LUMPUR: The situation in flood-hit Terengganu and Kelantan is almost back to normal, with only 144 evacuees at relief centres, down from 149 Sunday.
The number of evacuees in the east coast states of Terengganu, Kelantan and Pahang had reached 23,235 at the height of the floods last Thursday.
In Terengganu, only one relief centre, at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kompleks Gong Badak, Kuala Terengganu, remained open with 119 evacuees as at 9am.
They are expected to return to their homes Monday.
The state flood portal reported that the floods in Terengganu had claimed six lives.
In Kelantan, only 25 people remained at one relief centre, at Sekolah Kebangsaan Pengkalan Kubor 2.
They were from Kampung Simpangan and Kampung Pak Keral.
