Third suspect in Bangkok blasts nabbed at LCCT

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian police have arrested the third Iranian bomber suspect who fled from Thailand shortly after the blasts in Bangkok on Tuesday.
The man, 31, was arrested at the Low-Cost Carrier Terminal here, around 3.30pm Wednesday when he was about to board a flight to Iran.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar, in a statement, said the man was arrested under the Immigration Act of Malaysia, "following intelligence provided by our Thai counterpart".
"He is being investigated for terrorism activities in relation to bombings in Thailand."
It is learnt the man had entered the country on Tuesday and booked his flight, when police placed an alert and blacklisted him with the Immigration authorities.
They said Immigration officers informed the anti-terror squad in Bukit Aman, who immediately raced to the airport and arrested him.
It is not immediately known if he would be sent to Thailand to face charges.
Police are also checking if the man has any accomplices here.
Bernama reported earlier Wednesday that Malaysian police were on high alert for an Iranian linked to a failed attempt in Bangkok to assassinate Israeli diplomats, and believed to have slipped into Malaysia.
According to international news agencies, Thai authorities have detained the Iranian's two accomplices in connection with the explosions.
One of the men, identified as Saeid Morati, 28, according to a passport found in his possession, lost his legs when he tried to hurl an explosive device at a Thai police car while fleeing from an earlier blast at a house in Bangkok.
The other was detained as he tried to board a flight out of Thailand.
A third suspect is believed to have fled to Malaysia.
