Chua-Lim debate: More seats for public

By LIM WEY WEN

KUALA LUMPUR: More members of the public will be able to attend Saturday's debate between MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute (Asli) chief executive officer and director Datuk Dr Michael Yeoh told a press conference here Friday that the institute had increased the allocation for the public from 200 seats to 250, to accomodate the demand.

Dr Yeoh said the institute had received 450 requests from the public.

He also added that a big screen will be set up outside the hall so that those who could not get seats can also watch from outside.

The debate on the topic, Is the Two-Party System Becoming a Two-Race Sytem?, will be held at the Berjaya Times Square in Kuala Lumpur.

It will be aired live on Astro AEC (Channel 301) and repeated at 11pm on Saturday.

Non-Mandarin speakers can also watch the debate in Bahasa Malaysia on Astro Awani (Channel 501). It can also be watched via live streaming on www.astro.com.my/bendiquan.

The debate is jointly organised by Asli and MCA think-tank Insap.
