Former Hulu Langat MP Badrul Hisham dies

PETALING JAYA: Former Hulu Langat MP Datuk Badrul Hisham Abdul Aziz passed away at Hospital Serdang at about 3.30pm Friday.

Badrul Hisham, who was news portal Agendadaily's deputy editor-in-chief, was 53.

His wife Datin Noraini Ahmad, when met by reporters at the hospital's mortuary, said he had complained of breathing difficulties while at home at around 3pm. He was rushed to the hospital but died on arrival.

Their son, Ilyas Fadzli, 19, told Bernama that the funeral will be held at the Sungai Tangkas Muslim Cemetery in Bangi at 10am Saturday.

Badrul Hisham started his career as a cadet reporter at Utusan Malaysia soon after graduating from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1984 and rose to become an assistant news editor.

In 1995, he was nominated by Barisan Nasional to stand in the Hulu Langat constituency and won. He defended the seat in 1999.

Badrul Hisham did not contest the 2004 election. He came out of retirement to become a columnist at Agendadaily.
