Live radio broadcast of debate on 988 FM


PETALING JAYA: Tune in to The Star's 988 FM for the only live commercial radio broadcast of the year's hottest debate the highly-anticipated verbal smackdown between MCA president Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

Programming director Lim Tock Peng said the station would bring the debate, which will take place from 5pm to 6pm today, to some 1.5 million Chinese listeners around the country.

“We also have many overseas Malaysians who tune in for the latest news on current affairs. We are glad to bring this debate of the century' to them,” she said.

She added that they included listeners from Britain and United States.

Lim said overseas listeners could tune in to the live broadcast via the station's website www.988.com.my.

Local listeners should tune in to these frequencies: Kedah, Perlis, Langkawi (FM96.1), Taiping (FM96.1/94.5), Kuantan and Pahang (FM90.4), north Johor and Malacca (FM98.2), Penang (FM94.5), Ipoh (FM99.8), Klang Valley (FM98.8), Negri Sembilan (FM93.3) and south Johor and Singapore (FM99.9).

Astro AEC (Channel 301) will also air the debate live, with a repeat telecast at 11 tonight while live streaming is available via its website www.astro.com.my/bendiquan.

Jointly organised by the Asian Strategy and Leadership Institute and MCA think-tank Insap, the debate is part of a day-long forum on “The Chinese at a Political Crossroads in the Next General Election”.
