Satellite TV, radio service soon for some 2,000 remote areas in S'wak

SIBU: Some 2,000 remote locations in Sarawak where there is no television and radio coverage will soon receive free decoders and satellite dishes to enable the rural population to access 18 television and 19 radio channels.

The channels will be available on the Astro Njoi service, which is free of charge.

Launching the Njoi service in Sibu Saturday, Deputy Information, Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Joseph Salang Gandum said this was among the Government's efforts to provide information and entertainment to all the people, regardless of their location.
