Elderly duo cry foul at forum

KUALA LUMPUR: Two elderly men caused a stir at the Malaysian Chinese at the Political Crossroads forum.

Goh Kim Seng from Perak became angry when he was jeered while asking his question during the second session.

He shouted “I'm 71 years old!” as he left the hall.

Goh later said: “I'm very unhappy. They have no respect for me as their elder.

“I will try go back into the hall even if they don't want to let me back in.”

Disgruntled: Goh (in green) being escorted out of the forum yesterday.

Goh said the forum should provide space for everyone to discuss current issues.

Another elderly member of the audience Hong Min Jie, 73, was also upset that he was not allowed to ask his question.

Hong said he flew in from Sabah the morning of the forum to “fight for the next generation”.

He had not registered for the forum but insisted that the organisers give him an entry pass.

He also insisted that he should have a seat at the front of the hall as “I am a senior citizen”.
