DPM: Kita's dissolution not a threat to BN

KOTA BARU: The dissolution of Kita will not be a threat to Barisan Nasional, said Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

The Deputy Prime Minister said Thursday that splinter political parties were always expected to “die” and what was happening to Kita was expected.

“Splinter parties have leaders whose political stand is inconsistent. We do not know what (Kita president Datuk) Zaid Ibrahim's direction is,” he said, when asked to comment on Zaid's plans to dissolve Kita.

Muhyiddin said Zaid had left Umno to join PKR but when he could not agree with Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, he left to form Kita.

“It doesn't matter. This does not present any significant threat to us. Maybe it is even better (that the party is to be dissolved),” he added.
