PAS central leadership wants all 10 Kedah Excos to be reinstated

By RAHIMY RAHIM

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS will take necessary action to ensure that all 10 state executive councillors will be reinstated despite the announcement made by Kedah Mentri Besar that only eight will be sworn on Tuesday.

Secretary-general Datuk Mustafa Ali said the party had consulted the state leadership and state party on the matter.

"The central leadership hopes all 10 state executive councillors will be sworn in for the term 2012.

"The party believes that whatever decision taken was to further strengthen the Pakatan Rakyat state government in Kedah," he told reporters at the party headquarters on Monday.

It was reported that Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak has received the consent from Kedah Sultan Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah for his list of 10 state executive councillors.

However, Azizan on Sunday said only eight Exco members would be sworn in at Istana Anak Bukit while two others would be sworn in at a later date, believed to be the end of the Exco term on March 7.
