PAS Youth to submit memo against media promotion of Valentine's Day
KUALA LUMPUR: PAS Youth will submit a memorandum to the Government against the widespread media promotion of Valentine's Day.
Federal Territory PAS Youth chief Kamaruzaman Mohamad said the movement will hand over the memorandum to Information, Communications and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim at his office at 10am on Friday.
"PAS Youth is not calling for a ban on Valentine's or against those of other religion wishing to celebrate.
"We are merely against its widespread coverage in the media that could influence Muslim youths," he told reporters at a press conference here Wednesday.
He said there were concerns the advertisements could lead to Muslim youths getting involved in undesirable activities or premarital sex.
