Murdered accountant called mum in the morning
KUALA LUMPUR: The pregnant accountant who was stabbed to death had called her mother in the morning saying that she was suffering from morning sickness.
Her younger brother, Mohd Azumar, 24, said the last time the family heard from her was Friday morning.
The body of Suzila Sabtu, 28, was found with several stab wounds at her apartment in Pangsapuri Permai, Sungai Besi, later that day.
“She called home to say she was going to take leave as she was suffering from morning sickness,” Azumar said at Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) mortuary yesterday.
He said the family did not know Suzila was having marital problems.
Cheras OCPD Asst Comm Mohan Singh confirmed that police have arrested a man in his 40s.
“The parking attendant has been remanded till March 23 to facilitate investigations,’’ he said, adding that the post mortem showed that Suzila was eight weeks pregnant and had succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
It was reported yesterday that a man had stabbed and killed Suzila after a heated argument in her apartment.
Police who arrived at the scene at 7pm on Friday found the man still inside. They also found a bloody knife, believed to be the murder weapon, near the body.
