PM: BN will resolve woes of Kelantan people if given mandate

JELI: Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak has pledged that the people of Kelantan will experience a change in landscape should Barisan Nasional be given their mandate in the next general election.

The Prime Minister promised that their woes such as poor water supply, housing needs and basic infrastructure would be resolved if Barisan was allowed to govern.

“We pledge to make over the landscape but the changes will be based on strong Islamic values and principles,” he said during a meet-the-people session at the Universiti Malaysia Kelantan campus here on Friday.

Najib said that in order for Muslims to be strong, the administration needed to have an agenda that would develop them in all aspects.

“We are not just talking about the importance of a strong akidah (faith), but Muslims also need to have sound akhlak (moral values) and be knowledgeable.

“Sloganeering alone does not make Muslims strong,” he added.

The Prime Minister also announced a RM1mil allocation to set up an Islamic centre at the campus.
