Mont Kiara folk targeted by burglars
KUALA LUMPUR: The wealthy living in the posh Mont Kiara area are being targeted by burglars and robbers.
A series of robberies and break-ins have occurred at the luxury condominiums there recently.
On March 11, a woman was robbed by four men armed with crowbars who escaped with RM1.5mil worth of jewellery and RM50,000.
Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Wan Abdul Bari Wan Abdul Khalid said the robbery happened at about 6pm at a condominium with 24-hour security.
It is believed that the men were able to bypass the security post with a stolen or duplicate access card to enter the premises.
There have been incidents of similar robberies in other condominiums in the area over the past few weeks, pointing to the involvement of a single robbery gang.
“We are investigating the robberies and are not discounting that,'' ACP Wan Abdul Bari said.
