MIC giving out RM16.5m worth of scholarships
KUALA LUMPUR: Indian students can begin applying for the RM16.5mil in scholarships secured by the MIC's higher education bureau for SPM school leavers.
The scholarships will also be offered to needy students with average results to take up courses in skills training, said Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk S.K. Devamany.
Devamany, who is also an MIC vice-president, advised applicants to pursue courses of their interest, and not that of their parents.
Further study: SPM and STPM school leavers receiving scholarships from the MIC higher education bureau. “If a student does not have any interest in a course, he or she is unlikely to do well,” he said after opening a seminar for SPM school leavers at Universiti Malaya yesterday.
The scholarships are given out by Limkokwing University, Kuala Lumpur Metropolitan University, Binary University College, Nirwana College, Putra Intelek International College and HELP University College.
