Yes, YTL is now expanding 4G coverage
PETALING JAYA: The Yes 4G mobile broadband service is now available in about 70% of populated areas in peninsular Malaysia.
YTL Comms chief executive officer Wing K. Lee said that in the 15 months since the service was launched, the company had almost doubled the number of its base stations from 1,200 to 2,200.
“The Yes service has more than 300,000 subscribers and an 86% customer satisfaction level,” he said at YTL Comms launch of postpaid plans for Yes, which is claimed to be the fastest 4G mobile Internet service with voice in the country.
The Yes Unlimited Super Postpaid Plans come in four packages, covering data usage chunks of 1.5GB, 4GB, 6GB and 10GB monthly.
Charges range from RM48 to RM168 a month.
All offer surfing speeds of up to 20Mbps (megabits per second).
However, once a user hits the maximum data usage for the package, the surfing speed is throttled down to 128Kbps (kilobits per second).
Users will not be charged for additional data usage beyond what had been signed up for.
New subscribers will receive a Go 4G Dongle, a Huddle 4G Mobile Hotspot or a Zoom 4G Gateway.
